It's RDJ, from 1994, recorded in 1990. Cooled-out nice&crunchy piano-pounding ear-candy on the electro tip. Somewhat easier to find than you'd think due to the fact that RDJ's name isn't mentioned on the label. Buy one today... -Fresh

Hi folks, GAK 1-4 popped up in a recent auction by those 4th world guys. I've seen several copies of this lying around in a shop nearby. I know it's on WARP but the label doesn't say much else. Who/What is it ? What does it sound like ? Thanks in advance for the info, dv8 P.S. : The same shop has a shitload of secondhand WARP, Rephlex, ... stuff.

I can't believe people are bidding on Gak. I have seen that used at nearly every record store for years. I was always curious about it, until a friend bought it. It is really disappointing, and I was very surprised to learn that it was Aphex Twin. It is still hard to believe, I usually love his music

Fingers point toward RDJ.

4 tracker w/1 really bottom heavy bullfroggy electro jam pumped up with a supercool midtrack piano break (this is when I slip in the tekno kut 808 a capella). I have played this track out often and *every time* it proves a dance-floor sweepstakes grand prize winner. (Hi Ed!) There are 2 more straight aheadish technoey (yeah-I have a license to say things like that) cuts where the kicks are cocky, chunks of slightly distorted poly rhythm and the hooks are sweet little melodies flying around in the treetops. And last, there is an amazing ditty with a gorgeous endearing "end of the night" melody set to click clack ole clonk house beat. I have compared listening to this cut to being pushed off a cliff and realizing you can fly. Now, can you buy me a 2nd copy? Please? Teep PS Tracks like this are why I despise the "Mike and Rich" crap-du-RDJ.
